brilliant weekend

well i had a wonderful weekend. i slipped off to kauai to see my daughter. it was sooo good to get away for a few days, and leave the men to there own devices.
kauai is beautiful (of course) but very different from the big island. it is very imposing, and a little intimidating, with massive mountains and gullies that loom over you the whole time. the first pic is my baby and her new car...very yuppy. the next is the east coast and the last is the west coast. i know from reading the threads that not everybody had a good weekend, so rather than highjacking , i thought i'd better start a new one. much aloha from a much more relaxed laurie.

 

Nice place... nice car.... nice..... haha. Nothing.

The photos are stunning...kinda looks like a bit of Oregon dropped off and floated over there....maybe it did ? I don't know my Pacific Coast physical geography history yet.... However, your weather looks a whole heap better than what we're getting right now

 

funny you should say that. when i first came to hawaii, i thought it was off the coast of california!! (well on the maps its always a little box in the corner). after six hours in the air, i realized that either i was somehow on the wrong plane, or hawaii wasn't where i thought it was. hawaii didnt come off the coast of anywhere. it is a quite separate bit of the world. in more ways than one lol. the weather on kauai is the wettest in the states, if not the world. it can sometimes rain for months. (and by rain i dont mean the english drizzle kind, i mean monsoon kind). it was (of course) beautiful while i was there. lol. i AM the sun goddess.
