Ok so today i decided to order new motherboard and a new video card. For my AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb Quad-Core 3.4 GHz Socket AM3 125W.

    Story time.

This MSI motherboard i built back in 1996,lasted all most 20 years of life. The motherboard finally gave up this year. After that amount of time, that is a very long time to run.The desktop only shut off during power outages .It basically ran 24/7.

The MSI 870a - G54 motherboard finally stopped posting BIOS.The system will turn on and the fans run and every thing. But No beep codes no nothing.I tried every thing.Taking out the cmos resetting the cmos jumper. And nothing just a black screen.Video monitor works perfectly fine.I have it connected to my laptop HDMI port.

So what to do buy a new board i guess.

So last time the system was running good. The RAM checked out fine. The system turns on but no bios.So i would say the cpu works perfectly fine.

The power supply is new only been used once or twice.

So i ordered this items to replace my motherboard and my EVGA 550ti which was about dead as well.So you can tell i had this system for a while.

    This is the replacement board
    Gigabyte AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gbps USB 3.0 ATX AM3+ Socket DDR3 1600 Motherboards (GA-970A-DS3P)

And the replacement video card, which is better then my older card lol.

An AMD dual core in '96... really? Methinks you got your decades mixed up, 2006 would be better for an Athlon X2.

The motherboard it self was made in 1996,and i had single cores installed on the motherboard.I don't remember what models i had prior to the dual. It's been so long since i installed the quad core.It was continuously upgraded through out the years.

The MSI board you specified was released in 2010.

How old is your case? Mine is 17.

    Sep 6, 2010 i looked up the release date.HAF 912 case

Like i said i made a mistake on dates. My other system had a AMD K5 Processor.Which was made in 1996.

This is a system that was built in 2010.

Be for that i had a few systems.A couple of Dells and a compact from 1991.

I switched out parts so many times i can't keep track.
