I bought a 400w psu a couple of months back, it has two fans, recently one of the fans started makin a hell of a racket and now doesn’t work at all. Is it okay to run the psu with just the one fan, if it is overheating will this will this cause any damage to my comp or will it just kill the psu? I really don't wanna fork out for yet another psu.

it should be fine as long as A: the air will still come primarily from the hole at the bottom of the psu, and B: as long as cool air is coming out of the psu. if it gets unusually hot, or if your cpu gets unusually hot, then it's a good idea to get a new psu. antec and fortron make good ones, the latter being cheaper.
