On loading Firefox today, after a few seconds, F'fox was replaced by something calling itself 'search.mapseasy.net/is'.

This is nothing I have knowingly download, and I want rid of it. But there's no obvious way to shift it. I've run Malwarebytes ( which usually finds PUPs) but to no avail. I contemplated uninstalling Firefox, but would be loath to lose all my bookmarks.

(I assume this is just a PUP, not anything nastier?)

Can anyone tell me how I can get rid of this unwanted intruder?

    Thanks

Can't you just go to advanced settings and check reset browser.

Sure but since the malware is still in the computer, it will again hijack the browser.
You have to deal with removing the malware first.
