browser highjack

When I open my browser IE7 soon after another browser ie7 pops up in front with advertisements. did as instructed in you malware removal guide and no I wasn't able to restart in safe mode to use Ccleaner,Spybot Search & Destroy or CounterSpy and yes was disconnected from the net. Then after running the programs was able to boot up into Safe Mode with Networking and run Bitdefender and PandaActiveScan. Her are my logs thanks.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

• Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around..

• CounterSpy
• AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
• Bitdefender - from step 6
• Panda Scan - from step 6
• runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
• newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
• HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

First, look in Add/Remove Programs for "VSToolbar" and install if found. Next we need to rename HijackThis to something like "analyzethis" so the newer infections if present will be shown.

 

I looked in add remove programs and no VStoolbar. Here' my highjackhtis log renamed.

Sorry for the confusion, what I mean by rename was rename the acutal utility. Rename "HijackThis.exe" to "analyzethis.exe" because some of the newer infections will not show unless it's renamed.

 

Thanks I did as you asked and saved as analyzethis.exe.

 

For some reason when I saved as analyzethis.exe it didn't upload? I even copied and pasted analyzethis.exe to make sure.

 

Just rename it to something, it doesn't really matter. Attach the new log once renamed.

 

Thanks for your time. I decided to go ahead and formate my hard drive and reload my programs. It was just easier since my computer is only 2 months old I didn't have that much on it yet.
