browser hijack help

Hi guys,
I need some help. I did have something called spyware pirate on my pc, i went to these forums and followed the steps to remove. I used HJT, ccleaner, i have ad-aware and spybot s&d. the main popup is gone but my I.E. homepage is now about:blank and i cant fix it, (its an ad for rx drugs) i also now have an icon in my taskbar that pops up every 15 minutes, it looks like a mcafee shield but its not. and if i click on it, i get a fight spyware now popup. i can run hjt, but i honestly have no idea what im looking for. if someone knows how to fix this, please help.
