    I did the read and run me first, now I have additional issues. This started a few weeks ago when I picked a redirect virus. Got rid of the redirect, but I still get the popups at times telling me I have been infected and I should click here blah blah blah. After runnung combofix, I have lost my scrolling ability on my mousepad (laptop) and Windows installer constantly tries to install Jasc paintshop pro. I also had something hijack my whole system. This happened as I was trying to retrieve my forgotten password for this website. I was able to get back up and running by running Dr. web cureit! It found "backdoor.tdss.565". I still got major problems. Please help.

    I could only attach 4 logs. I believe there are 5.

    You may have to reinstall the drivers for you mousepad as well as any other programs that are broken. If you look at your Combo log, it removed some files that were infected. You will also notice that the items I am going to have you fix in Combo are also broken.

    Can I assume that you uninstalled AVG in order to run the scans?

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    RenV::
    c:\program files\CheckPoint\ZAForceField\ForceField .exe
    c:\program files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\issch .exe
    c:\program files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\isuspm .exe
    c:\program files\CyberLink\PowerDVD\DVDLauncher .exe
    c:\program files\Dell Photo AIO Printer 924\dlccmon .exe
    c:\program files\EnGraph\QuicktimeKiller\QuickTimeKiller .exe
    c:\program files\iTunes\iTunesHelper .exe
    c:\program files\QuickTime\qttask .exe
    c:\program files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh .exe
    c:\program files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPLpr .exe
    c:\windows\ehome\ehtray .exe
    c:\windows\system32\rundll32 .exe

    File::
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\15i8o0hc.dat
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\fHlMp02041
    C:\WINDOWS\0.log
    C:\WINDOWS\ayokox~1.bin
    C:\WINDOWS\Ksuviyunolifeta.dat
    c:\windows\ubariyovuzikagu.dll

    Registry::
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "Cjifihoduce"=-

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the previous file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now please re-run TDSSKiller. You don't need to download it as you already have it installed. Attach the new log.

    Then go to start / run / and type:
    sfc /scannow and have your XP cd handy.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Yes, I uninstalled Avg to get combofix to work. I got to the "scannow" point and the scan started and it asked for my xp service pack 3 cd. My disc only has service pack 1, so it would not work. What now?

    Also, yesterday I disabled InstallShield/ Update Service in the startup menu section of ccleaner as a temporary fix to the Jasc paintshop issue. Oh also, my scroller is working now.

    Also, I had disabled the line you had me delete.

Everytime I open IE My homepage comes up ok, but then a new browser window opens telling about a walmart card I've won or I have registry errors and I should click here or there to fix. Also, When I do a google search and click on any result it redirects me an ad site.

    Please re-run TDSSKiller and this time when it finds something, select cure. Attach the new log.

    Then:
    Please also download MBRCheck to your desktop

    • Double click MBRCheck.exe to run (vista and Win 7 right click and select Run as Administrator)
    • It will show a Black screen with some information that will contain either the below line if no problem is found:
      • Done! Press ENTER to exit...
    • Or you will see more information like below if a problem is found:
      • Found non-standard or infected MBR.
      • Enter 'Y' and hit ENTER for more options, or 'N' to exit:
    • Either way, just choose to exit the program at this point since we want to see only the scan results to begin with.
    • MBRCheck will create a log named similar to MBRCheck_07.16.10_00.32.33.txt which is random based on date and time.
    • Attach this log to your next message.

    "Cure" is not an option. Only skip, quarantine or restore.

    Ok, then just run the MBRCheck for me. Attach that log or post it.

    That's what I was afraid of, so let's fix this manually.

    You will need to boot to the Recovery Console to remove this infection.

    Now boot to the Recovery Console and run the fixmbr to clear a Master Boot Record infection that you have.

    You can read the below to help you do this:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654

    Then boot back into normal mode.

    Then re-run MBRCheck.

    Sweet. That should have taken care of any lingering issues. Tell me how things are running now. ;)

    Wow, this machine hasn't run this smooth since it was new! :-D That virus must have shut down windows update service because windows had 12 updates to download. Never knew it.

    What does the installshield do? I still have it shut off in my startup process. I have an outdated trial version of Jasc paintshop that it tries to update continuously if I have the installshield turned on. I uninstalled the program, but the update attempt continues.

    Is there a thread on what to do next?

    Thank you so very much! You are a lifesaver.

    You can explore that issue in the software forum. :)

    Good to know you are running well.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.We recommend them for doing backup scans when you suspect a malware infection.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
        for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
