Browser opening new window

Hi all.
For the past few days my browser has been opening a restored down window each time I click on a search result.
I use IE 11 and Google as my home page.
It used to just open in the same window, full screen.
Anyone know why?

I also noticed that I am getting double click in my search history even though I haven't wittingly visited such a page.
I did a Malware bytes scan the other day to check for 'things'.
It did find the odd one and I quarantined the blighters.

 

UPDATE.
Just cleared my tiffs, cache and registry using ccleaner and it's gone back to 'normal'.
Anyone know what type of cr*p gets into where and how?
