As the title says.... I have been working on a neighbours machine and everytime I try to uninstall the outdated security suite upon restart I get BSoD of "driver less or not equal as" and only system restore will remedy the problem, i have used the Kaspersky software removal tool with the same results. any help/advice would be gratefully recieved.

    Thanks ;)

    Hi Iain

I would run the Registry Cleaner of CCleaner and see if any reg entries are left as a BSOD in an AV is likely a reg entry or its added a service, so also check for services running that are part of KAV.

Is all ok in Safe Mode? If so check the startup list for KAV items and delete.

    Cheers Iain
and good stuff and glad its now gone, some apps do tend to leave a lot of residuals behind even with an uninstall that can hamper other installs especially security apps.
