My CPU is a HP Pavilion Media Center m8247c with AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual core Processor 5600+ with 2 Gigs of ram. Original I was running Windows Vista. The PC keep freezing and giving the BSOD. Updated all the drivers and there was no BIOS update available. The PC got to the point were it would not turn on any more. Took it in to have it bench tested. I was told that the Harddrive had failed. Bought a new harddrive and Windows 7 (Home) Full install. Had trouble installing the OS (restart looping). Finally got it installed it by removing all the RAM except for one stick. Recently all the orginal problems are coming back, BSOD (0x00000001, 0X00000024, etc) and freezes. Need help, I have exhaust all my knowledge and Geek Squad could not fix it.

Wether this applies i cant tell but have found this comment on a Memory supply site.....

Your HP Pavilion Media Center m8247c only supports modules made with a specific type of chip. Should you find what seems to be the exact same memory elsewhere for a lower price, it is very possible that the cheaper memory will not work in your system.

I ran the memory test last night, it passed after the second time. So just to be sure i bought a 1gig stick to day. So far no hangs freezes or BSOD. when my wife comes home i want to check one more thing. When she gets on the homegroup network and tries to access my computer it shuts down my PC just after a BSOD everytime. I believe I have more than just one problem. My video and lan connections are on board. Iam starting to wonder if my Mother board is going out. I do know that the second slot on the memory is bad. It cause the PC to do a continous restart looping during start up. Thanks for the help so far. I will keep you informed.

Tried accessing my PC with my wife computer through the homegroup network. As soon as I click a file in my PC (m8247c) from my wifes laptop it gives me the BSOD error 0x0000024 and some others, then restarts. Now what? Do I need a new network card, so that I'm not using the mother board. My gut is leading me toward the mother board, and I have already spent enough money. any more Ideas?

BSOD again just out of the blue. For no reason i was just sitting here staring at the PC wonder waht could be the problem. and it popped up with BSOD error (BSOD Error 0x0000007f (0x00000008,...did not cath the rest) and rebooted. Again i went to windows update and the device manager to make sure all drivers are updated. I noticed that my Network and video drivers updates failed and I could not get them to update. As stated before my video and lan connections are on board. Should I just get serperate Lan and Video Cards?
