    Can anyone please help?

I am getting a BSOD at startup and not sure if it a virus causing this? The stop message reads:

    "config_list_failed

    0x00000073

    0x00000001 0xc000017d 0x00000002 0xf85a0bb8"

I cannot start the laptop in safe mode or using last known working configuration. I don't have an Wndows XP CD as it was already installed when I bought the laptop.

I would appreciate any advice please...

Thanks for your reply...I have followed those steps, however the laptop will not start using "Load Last Known Good configuration" and I don't have an ERD.

Is there any way I can create one on CD from another PC?

According to the stop code I have run out of disk space, but obviously I need to start it to make space...
