I have a BSOD crash here, 0x0000007F on a Windows XP system. The problem is that I can't get to a desktop. It crashes on start up. Is there any way to run these debugging steps if the PC doesn't load to the desktop? Maybe boot into a live preinstallation environment (PE like a Barts CD or the UBCD4Win)? Can I pull the drive and hook it up to a 2nd healthy PC as a slave or external and run the debug steps from there?

Any input, thoughts, suggestions, or ideas will be appreciated. Thanks!

:confused After 3 tries, the PC booted to the desktop in Safe Mode. Strange. I tried booting in to Safe Mode twice in a row, then tried Last Known Good Config (again), then tried Safe Mode one last time, and it got to a desktop! Freekin PCs... I swear, you can't count on 'em for any kind of consistency! LOL roflmao

I'd still like to know something about my first question in post #1. Can debugging be run from PE or on a slave/external drive?
