    Hi

I am using windows Xp pro SP2. Since a few weeks, I get random BSODs when I navigate on the internet.

    Here is my configuration:

    P4C800E-Deluxe (Bios 1023)
    P4 3Ghz
    CORSAIR TWINX XMS512 3200 C2 PRO (1024Mo)
ATI RADEON 9800 PRO 128Mo (Catalyst driver 6.1)
Audigy Platinum EX Sound card (last driver)
    Netgear WG311T (last driver)
    Agnitum Outpost Pro (3.0 (557.437))
    Avast antivirus home edition

The configuration has been in use without any problem for 1 year and a half. The latest updates are the audio and video drivers together with the install of Agnitum Outpost Pro. The problems have occured since then. I do not know if it is related.

I read that this random crashes may be due to memory problems. I am going to use memtest86 to test my sticks. However this may also be due to a driver problem. That is why I enclosed 3 minidumps opened with windbg. There is no clear indication about the culprit... Can you help me out ?

    Thanks.

Trouble while browsing the net and those dumps seem to indicate some TCP/IP trouble, which would lead me to suspect the Agnitum firewall software. Try uninstalling that and see if the problem gets better. Could it be fighting with the XP (defaults to ON in XP-SP2) firewall?

My guess is also Outpost Agnitum. I read that the last version of this software may cause BSOD. I have not tried to uninstall it yet.

Since I bought a one year license I am reluctant to uninstall it. I wanted to be sure that it was the cluprit by analysing the minidump. It seems that this is not so obvious. I may try Look n stop or a hardware firewall.

Note that Xp firewall is not active.

I had other replies to my post on other forums which say that this may be due to faulty ram...

    Thanks anyway.

Have you tested your ram yet with memtest86 and if so what were the results?

as you said the issue only happened since installing Outpost, I would un-install that to test if you still have the BSODs if you do then suspect Outpost if not then suspect one of the drivers and re-install Outpost.

if it could be one of the drivers then use the rollback driver feature in Device Manager.
