[BSOD] pc restarting

    my pc keeps on restarting...

    attached are 2 logs from mini dump files

    can anyone check them out pls.

    It's possible your memory is failing or just needs reseating.

    It's also possible you have a corrupt core Windows file ntoskrnl.exe on your hard drive.

    The windows version is not available in the dumps, please state.
    Do you have a Windows disk?

    Win Xp sp3 and yes i got the win xp installation cd

    performed hard disk and ram diagnostics and both passed :S

    replaced ntoskrnl.exe..... will check if pc restarts again

    pc restarted again :/

    so its the avg that is causing the restarts?

    pc restarted again twice today.

    one of the restarts happened while scanning with Avira antivirus.

    temperatures not exceeding 50degrees


    both loggs attached.

    It's ntoskrnl again.

    I think you need to post more detail about the pc.
    Age
    Age of hard drive how full is it?
    Have you run cleanup, check disk and defrag?
    memory size

    Please confirm when this is happening on boot or after a period of running?

    Age dunno.. its my work pc. its an Compaq Evo D310 Desktop

    Age of hard drive how full is it?
    dunno-
    c: 60gb out of 80gb
    e: 20free out of 80

    Have you run cleanup, check disk and defrag?
    ran defragmentation. going to run cleanup now.

    memory size
    1.5Gb

    Please confirm when this is happening on boot or after a period of running?
    after period of running.

    replaced the pc. much better now ;)

    It has happened to me a few times over the years. Twice to a friends CPU in the last 6 months. He has a 14 yr. old brother, and the things he looks at on the internet are unspeakable. :cool And since he didn't protect himself, he ended replacing 2 200Gb HD's in the last 6 months.
    I've read conflicting stories about BSOD, but one thing seems consistant... failure to protect one surfing, and CPU.
