I was following the XP System Cleaning Steps, and running MGTools, when my laptop crashed. I am using my desktop right now.

The laptop will not log on. I have tried recovery console, boot in safe mode, last known good configuration and it will not get past this error. I have attached a photo of the fail screen.

    Your image is upside down.

Something that happened prior to running MGtools caused this. Or just a untimely crash of Windows in the middle of MGtools running. MGtools is basically an information collector and any minor changes being made to your system are insignificant and would not cause this. The crash of Windows may have just occurred at a point that corrupted your registry.

What problems were you having that prompted you to run the cleaning procedure to begin with? Also, do you remember whether any of the scans prior to MGtools found and removed anything?

You will have to try running the below procedure to try and restore an uncorrupted copy of the registry hives.
