    Ok, so I've been using Hotspot Shield on my computer in order to be more secure on my college's internet network (I'm quite paranoid). But for some reason, very recently, whenever I start up Hotspot Shield, I get a BSOD. I ran Windows Debugger and hopefully decoded the dump file, so here it is;

    Code:
    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                             *
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
    *                                                                             *
    *******************************************************************************

    Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

    Hopefully that is useful, and I didn't do it wrong.

    For reference, I have a Dell Inspiron 530 with an Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 processor with 2.66 GHz, Windows Vista 32 bit Premium, and 3.36 GB RAM.

    Thanks in advance.

    From a quick check HSsdrv.sys is related to Hotspot shield and it seems to be causing problems.
    So some admins of those hotspots are flagging and/or denying access if hotspot sheild is detected.
    The other one is related to Intel(R) PRO/1000 Adapter NDIS 6 deserialized driver , but that could just be a false error due to the hotspot sheild software.

    The error has been reported and I am sure there is some OT going on at anchor free (odd name given the error..) or it may just be an MS error from a recent update.

    Down further is says...The probable cause is e1e6032.sys which is your intel NIC.
    One solution mentioned especially for the Dell 530 with Vista is a power management solution
    The second solution is to update the driver. Intel has released a new driver in January http://www.intel.com/support/network/sb/cs-023752.htm

    I have done the power management solution, and I'm pretty sure the driver for my network adapter is up to snuff..

    In response to the first post, how would the administrator of the network cause my computer to BSOD?

    For reference, this BSOD doesn't happen every time, just every once in a while. And only on this computer. I have a laptop which does not BSOD when hotspot shield is turned on.

    I've updated the driver, and I have changed the power settings.

    As for the first suggestion, I don't think it's the network admins because this only happens on my desktop computer, not my laptop. And how would the Network Admins BSOD my computer?
