Buffer overflow in Avant Browser 8.02

Why do people still not use functions that do bounds checking? Especially in the URL

 

See Vlad... if everyone used M$ IE that sort of thing wouldn't happen!!

I know you are such a big fan of IE!!!

 

Technically this is the first vuln I've heard of in Avant but I've heard many in IE... I have no problem with people using it just all the problems in it...

The fact that the Avant browser is a shell on top of the IE engine, certainly doesn't make it a good alternative for you. (As it carries all the faults of IE )

I also tried using Avant Browser (To try out the tabs), but it had serious memory leaks so I dumped the program again. (Maybe in a while I will try it again to see if the problem have been fixed)

 

If tabs is what you want just use firebird...

EDIT: Such a basic buffer overflow in the URL with no advanced methods even having to be used makes me wary of the security of Avant Browser...

 

Sadly enough the extensions to configure Firebird to my pleasing carries memory leaks, so I'm also waiting for those to be fixed
