Bug on the screen

This might be a fatuous question but today, and I'm not sure what heading I should put this under , I noticed what appeared to be a very tiny fly or bug, almost too small to notice running randomly around the top part of the monitor screen and it wasn't until I tried to brush it off that I realised that wasn't real but computer generated. It was really tiny about the size of the bottom half of a comma. Any idea where it came from, if it likely to be a symptom of anything serious or just what the hell is it?

Hi

If computer generated then suspect malware or a prank appliction a friend may have added.

Boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot) and see if its still there.

But also run the below and have our malware experts see if there is anything untoward on your PC.

Sounds like a prank to me. I used to have a program that would do that, back in the days of W98.

But run the scans anyway. I run them every couple of weeks.

Most programs are a little "buggy".
Why do you think there are debug programs?

Seriously though. I have something like that that follows my pointer around on my Farmville page on Facebook.
No other site but there.
Scans never find anything dangerous.

And, if it's not a prank or malware, if it's just random pixel groups changing shape and/or color, you may be seeing screen artefacts...
