Buidling DMI Pool Hang...

i recently bought a new computer which works fine and saved me from computer hell.

my dad whom i worked for to buy the computer just asked for my parts from my old computers that were simply taking up space in my room so i said sure.

now he's inherited the same problems i had...
it used to hang at verifying dmi pool data
then i read up on it for him and he changed the jumper configuration, got the floppy to work, and is still trying to fix it.

now it reads at building dmi pool data
maybe its building because he got a new harddrive... its only gotten past this stage about twice which is when we tried to install windows which was unsuccessful.

ive just tried a couple more tests... i took out all cables other than the hd and it still hung at building dmi pool.
i dont know what else to do. helpness pleez
need some help on this one...

also if it helps, its running on a sempron processor with a biostar k8m800-m7a board. if its a motherboard problem, i/we have another one handy which is an elitegroup nforce3-a

This issue is most likely caused by 'corrupt boot files' on the boot drive!

best fix would be a 'repair install' of windows, booting from the disc!

To boot from disc, place the disc in CD drive, shutdown and re-boot.....if this fails you may need to enter the bios and enable 'boot from disc'.

Other variables may be ....BIOS corrupt or misc. setting not set properly.
Connections loose or disconnected.
Bad Hard disk drive or other bad hardware!
