building external hard drive for notebook

    ok, i've priced the enclosure and drive on newegg. now, what/how about connecting? i want to use alohabob to transfer everything from the original drive to the external. thanks for any assistance. obviously i am the newest of new at this.

    Bohartb, If you hve an external drive most come plug and play either throug firewire or usb. If you are building your own external drive some of the enclosures come with instaruction on how to connect them. Make sure when you buy the drive it is compatable with the type of enclosure you get. Better yet when you find the exact drive and enclosure you want post the link in your message and someone here can give you advice on installing and connecting . As far as alohabob once it is installed it shouldn' tbe a problem transfering files from one location to the other.
