    I have an Asus Eee Pc 1005HAG win7/32bit,with In-Built Camera,for the last three months i have been trying to ascertain why its abnormal since i bought it,i have searched extensively online,the manufacturers website,forums etc unfortunately i could not find a fix,though am not a computer savvy i have conducted basic practical investigation on my computer,below is what i have discovered;
    1-in BIOS,On-board devices,the Camera option is 'ENABLED'
    2-in Device Manager,camera does not show up,its not attached anywhere on the 'tree' even when flags are open!
    3-dropdown on Imaging Device under Device Manager,there is no USB 2.0 ...Webcam attached,instead it has Lexmark x422 device which has a problem indicator,a yellow '!' exclamatory mark,further investigations led me to conclude that it had a driver problem,code error 10 and could not start.the solution given to fix this driver problem was to reinstall it.i did reinstall and i updated it following the recommended procedure,the screen message i got was that windows had determined that the driver software for the device Lexmark x422 was up to date but the problem indicator did not erase,and on troubleshooting again,the message i got was that windows had found the correct drivers for the device on the computer but encountered an error and could not install the drivers.i repeated these operations a couple of times but it was never fixed.
    4-from the advice given on Asus Support,Downloads site,i found the Camera download for my edition eee1005hag,which i downloaded (AZURUWARE) successfully.i went a step further to download the Camera drivers for Asus Eee Pc 1005HA.but the camera was never fixed and camera/webcam could not show up in device manager.
    5-while i was executing a compatibility troubleshoot an error occurred with a screen message as below;
    An unexpected error has occurred. the troubleshooting wizard can't continue.

    Package ID:- PCW Diagnostic
    Path:- C:\Windows\diagnostics\system\pcw
    Error code:- 0x80131700
    Source:- Engine
    User:- xx xx xx
    Context:- Elaveted

    this remains unresolved as well!

    now am appealing to anyone out there to join hands in resolving these issues,

    i will appreciate all effort.

    Hi

    The yellow ! mark with the lexmark is not your issue with the webcam, but the webcam and no other yellow ! marks in Device Manager is a worrying issue as its more leaning towards for me a hardware issue.

    How old is this Asus or when was if bought as if it is still in warrenty then it should be returned.

    I would be tempted to try and re-install the Chipset driver and reboot and then see if the camera works.

    Install also .Net 3.5 or 4.0 HERE and HERE

    reboot and try again as some webcams need .Net to work.
