    Heres my specs:

raidmax 868 scorpio came with a 420 psu
    gigabyte ga-k8u mobo
thermaltake venus 12 fan + heatsink
    amd 3000 newcastle
    1 gig rosewell 184pin ddram
    evga geforce 6600 card
    hitachi 80gig sata hd

Now heres the problem, before I had it booting up fine, in bios it would recognise the sata hd thats connected, I put a cd rom in it, it recognised it too. Since I had to RMA my dvd burner i disconnected the cd rom and waited for the burner to come back.

I got the dvd burner back, it works fine, I stuck it in the pc, connected the sata hd and i was getting no rgb input signal. I reseated the gfx card, reseated the memory, disconnected the dvd burner and hd and booted up. It loaded fine so I went in bios then changed boot 1st from cd-rom so I could install win xp pro. I seem to have had the problem of when the sata hd was hooked up it wouldnt boot up. I have enable sata on in bios.

Well now when I boot up the computer wont even beep. I removed gfx card again, removed ram, put it back in and nothing. I havent tried removing the cmos battery and clearing the cmos yet, but i'm wondering if just changing the 1st boot to cd-rom would cause it not even to beep?

I hope i didnt burn out the gfx card or mobo. Any suggestions?

ok, I removed the atx connector on the board, removed the gfx card power was off of everything, I just removed the cmos battery, let it sit for 10 mins, put it back in and kept the gfx card out, kept the 1gig ddr dbl sided memory in. I reseated it, now the pc beeps, sounds like 1 or 2 long 1 short. I put the gfx card in and still one beep, sounds like 1 long 1 short. Sometimes tho i'll boot up and it will beep 1 long, other times it wont beap. Still no display on the monitor.

I was reading the mobo manual and its either a ddram, mobo error or a display/video card error. I forgot if my geforce 6600 agp card fan's was working at this test (it was previously) but I'll check it later. going to bed now :)

The computer is basically barebones, has been from the start. ram, cpu, mobo, gfx card agp (no onboard video), thats it. All the specs are in my first post. Sometimes it will post, with what sounds like either 1 long 2 short or 1 long 1 short, which like i said above is ddram, mobo, or monitor and gfx card error. I dont have another pc with a agp card slot so i cant test the card. The monitor works fine on another computer which leads me to believe the mobos agp slot died (brand new motherboard too), or the gfx card is dead (fan spins on it tho)

Sometimes it'll beep with the above, other times it wont even post, and I still have no display. Help please? I've tried reseating everything, even the cpu, which I noticed had a large diposit of artic 5 thermal paste on it, (wasnt running over the edges), I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol & a qtip.
