Does anyone know if an iso file is finalized?
I did not check the box to finalize my iso but it did it anyway.
It is either faulty software or iso files get finalized regardless.
    Thank you

My iso files always get finalized when I burn with ashampoo free burning software so I think it's normal.

    >>Did you have the box unchecked so as not to finalize? Just curious as it is on the same page or the same time as when you choose your speed and hard to see, easy to overlook,.
Either the software defaults to finalizing as the company told me or the software is faulty or yet maybe all iso files are finalized.
When I contacted them they told me to upgrade to ver. 12 from ver. 6 and if that did not work to download a diagnostic program. I am not going that route.
Let me know if you learn more.
    Thank you for replying.
PS I am wondering about the program when I told them I left the box unchecked and it still finalized they began to suggest options as though that was not operating as it should.

Ashampoo just confirmed that all iso's are finalized whether iyou check or uncheck the box.
So I guess we have a good burner. Thanks

If ISO files are not finalized, they can not be read so it would be pointless to bother burning them.

peter, are you sure you are 'burning as ISO' and not just copying the ISO file to disk? I've used a variety of burners and have never once been asked about finalising. Finalising only applies when writing/copying files to a disk, not when burning an ISO.

Thank you all for your advice. The disc from the Puppy iso file is fine. I had seen a check box on my burner's software and it got me thinking about appending files etc.
The disc is booting and is usable but I have few wrinkles to iron out s part of the learning process.
I am good now and thank you .
