Does anyone have any thoughts on why when I try to burn cds my computer won't recognise the blank cds I put in eventhough it works fine when I want to play a cd?

    Hi

    What Windows version you using?

What is make and model of your PC if bought from the likes of Dell, HP etc

But try this first as deleting the upper and lower filters does cure many issues like this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060

Did it ever burn CDs? If not, are you positive that the optical drive is capable of burning CDs?

You also might try updating the firmware of your burner. ed
