Burning bootable CDs

Hey guys. I am trying to burn copies of a few programs to CD, one of which is Parted Magic. I have all the files on my computer, not in ISO form mind you, but I have burned them before and they have worked flawlessley. All I would do is open Nero 7, select 'Burn Data CD' and I'd add all the files. Worked perfectly. For some reason tonight, I have burned two different programs, and although all the files are on the discs... the computer won't recognize them when I try to boot with them. I know it's not my computer because I can boot other CDs. Any ideas? Thanks.

 

You burnt them as Data?
Then they are not images and wont boot, they need to be bootable in order to boot.

 

So if I have a folder with all the disc contents inside... how would I burn that as an image? I know I can make the CD from the files... cause I have done it before. I'm just having a hard time remembering how, it's been a while. Thanks!

 

To the best of my memory, Nero has an option to burn bootable disc (either cd or dvd)
You need the file to be an image (ISO)

You also want to burn at low speed and I seem to remember using "Safe Disc" option as well as file verification.
The options are all pretty clear in Nero Express, not sure if you're using Smart Start, I always hated that so if you are, goto All Progs and fire up Nero Express.

What are you trying to burn? an OS or Diag tools?

 

Look for the .ISO on your PC and burn as an image. No way you will get an extracted ISO to boot.

What are these programs? Free for multi user? Please tell us, it's legit to do!

Burning Parted Magic 3.0. I don't have the .ISO file though.... Can I create one?
