:confused:confused:confusedI am a member on a karokee site that I record my songs on.
I would like to record the songs I sing on this site to cd.
When I burn a cd, it re-directs me to the site to open the cd to play. It will not play on a regular cd player. What program do I need to download and play on a regular cd player. I am sure there is some converting to do to the recording to make it recordable.
I was looking at the Vista Codec Pkg. and I was not sure if this program had that capability.
does this program have anything to do with an encoder?
I have Audicity 1.26 now and Lame. But I was hoping that there might be a simpler solution for me.
I have windows xp service pk 2.
    I have windows media player.
Do I need to convert to mp3?
Please help me if you can...

I was going to recommend Audacity, but you already have it. If you want to play the songs on a regular CD player, the player must have MP3 playback support, or the songs must be converted to standard CD audio format (.cda) before burning. There are several programs available that will do converting, including most CD burning software. When I need to convert/burn MP3 to standard CDs, I use Burrrn. It's free and will convert the files and burn 'em too. Be sure to use a burn speed of 16x or slower; faster speeds tend to have lower quality sound and/or a hiss or 'tinny' sound to it....
    Burrrn http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/Burrrn/burrrn.html
You can also look through the Multimedia section here at MajorGeeks for some ideas; SUPER and Switch and MediaCoder are a few that come to mind, but they don't burn.

CDburnerXP is a free burning program that will convert MP3 to audio CD and burn it too (I think) http://www.majorgeeks.com/CDBurnerXP_d4242.html

I hope this helps, good luck!

Hi dlb, and thank you so much for your reply and help, I really appreciate it!!! I know that it takes time to respond to someone!!!! sorry it took so long for me to respond back to you, I wanted to see if I had any more questions before I contacted you...

I would like to tell you what is going on at this point....

    # 1: I am having some problems and I wondered if you might help me. I have tried to search out the problem myself and I cannot solve it.

I have downloaded Lame several times and saved it in Audacity and followed the directions from Audicity and Lame to add it to the Audicity software for the mp3 extraction and the Audicity software still does not recognize it. It says you need to download Lame. I deleted Lame because I thought it might be corrupt and downloaded it again following the steps for Audicity to recognize it and still the same thing. The mp3 box still says the same thing.
    I have version 1.2.6 Audacity.
I even downloaded a new Zip file.

This is the info on the new Lame program I have :

This is a pre-built DLL of libmp3lame from the
    lame-3.97 distribution.

This version was built with Visual Studio 2003
and exports all of the functions listed in lame.h.

    To build, replace the lame-3.97\Dll\BladeMP3EncDLL.def
with the one in this archive and build with VS.

I got this Lame format from the link Audacity provided me with at: lame.buanzo.com.ar/
for windows xp to get the Lame program I needed.

    #2:
When I try to save a song to windows media player as a wave file, it says it is saved but when I go to the player, I cannot find it. I need help to locate it.

I tried to download the Burrrn program you told me about and it has a message:
Site owner has reached bandwith limit, so I guess I cannot get that one. Is there another program maybe just as good that you know of?

#3: Can a wave file be burned to a cd without Lame mp3 extention?

I am a song writer and I have several songs recorded that I need to get burned to cd, so I am in dier need.

I appreciate your help and I am sorry to have to bother you with this.

    Thank you,
    Shesalady559
