Butterball

So I have a few friends who served on aircraft carriers. One was aboard when the 1st Navy female pilot was KIA. So anyone who has yet to land on a carrier deck is called a BUTTERBALL, and sometime they will come in too low. When this happens, the ENTIRE ship knows immediately b/c the ship itself will RING LIKE A BELL.
Now many people would believe a plane sized silhouette would be knocked out the back ship, but that's not the case as not so much paint is replaced in such an incident. Of course the airframe is crushed like a beer can, but the engine is much more dense and will literally bounce of the structural steel.
