    Hi All,
Is there any problems if I buy the Download version of Office 2010 or should I get the CD? Can I make a CD with the downloaded files? The download version seems to be a little cheaper.
    Thanks

It would depend upon where you're getting it from. It might be an illegal download. You can get the BETA version from MS, but that would mean you would have to buy the full version after the trial/beta expires.

I bought the MS office 2010 profession plus via:

    http://www.microsofthup.com/hupus/chooser.aspx?culture=en-US

But, I only copied the key, since I couldn't download the x64 version. Then I downloaded the x64 trial, and use my key to register it. Worked fine.

Today, I typically try do opt for download instead of the CD. This includes games.

I'd say yes you can (I did this with 2007) the program was 700MB and extracts to a temp dir - or you can try uniextract. Extract the files and burn your own CD. I can't remember the exact location when you run the exe installer but try going to run & typing: %temp% and look for the files.

the advantage to getting the downloaded version from microsoft is that its easier to install on netbooks (f your downloading from a netbook) because you don't need a cd drive for that and without buying a usb cd drive

but on the other hand its easier to store and keep around the cd version and you can always take to contents of the cd and copy them to a flash drive to install on a netbook (thats what i did and it worked perfectly)

I agree and its the way I get Office versions and have done since Office 2003, more so with Office 2007 and 2010 due to as you mentioned having a netbook.

If you are a student, you can get 2010 for under $100.00, and plus have the .iso to burn to a DVD. Win7 is now under $30 at ultimatesteal dot com.
