    Woah.. life is weird..

First... you don't drink because you don't want to do stupid things, throw up and then forget the night before..

Then you down far too much, go giggly and kiss a lot of people. Then you continue to drink.. because you're too happy to care.. Then you dance.. Now.. that was what really struck me as unusual.. I don't dance. I do NOT dirty dance with girls. Nor do I dance with a large group of people, while singing.

Sleep it off.. and go out the next night.

Drink more, because you know what it did to you last time, and nothing was bad. Hug a LOT of people, say some pretty weird things, dance. The dancing began again. *sigh*. This time, dirty dance with said friend from previous night, in front of people. Kiss lots of people again. Dance again.. This time keep dancing until see boyfriend in corner and nearly die of embarrassment. But.. embarrasmment passes and you dance again. Comfort crying friend with kisses. Somehow it was supposed to help.. Have a weird inkling that it didn't. Bruise self throroughly and get foot trapped in sofa. Kiss people on camera. ON CAMERA. Oh dear.

Wake up the next morning with an angry stomach, and a suspicion that people will laugh at you from now onwards and proceed to church. Hmm.. well.. church here we come.

Sigh =( I thought i'd never drink.. Why now?!

It takes a generous amount of alcohol to get me dancing. At this point I actually think I can dance...well. I look around at all the people and figure, "they're watching me because I've got these incredible moves. Look at me, look at me!" Fortunately, when I drink, I usually always know what I'm doing. That doesn't stop me from dancing or otherwise mildly offending other persons, but it does prevent me from Karaokeing. Like I tell people, "If I'm up on stage singing, I've already streaked the place.":D

    G.T. R.I.P February 4, 2007. You will be missed.

I've never been drunk, and never felt I was missing anything worthwile. I've spent enjoyable evenings watching the antics of those that did get drunk, and watching the green-faced hangover recipients holding their heads in both hands afterwords. And been to the funerals of those that thought their driving skills were as good as their drunk dancing and verbal skills.

I'll stay the designated driver, thanks. ;)

Lots of truth in G.T.'s comments. If you are going to drink, don't drive, and get someone that hasn't drank anything to drive you. This comes from my own experience in my younger years, when I got several DUI's and wrecked several vehicles. Then I felt that the police were picking on me, but later on realized that they weren't and probably saved my life as well as others by being as tough on me as they were. My own message from experience is "Don't Drink and Drive and don't let your friends either"! I still drink beer, but do so in my home with no driving involved! :)

I never used to be one for alcohol.. At all. Wasn't worth the effort. I guess that changed, but the idea of drink driving will never change. Awful awful tragedies...

Can't say I drink much, but I did have a stage when I was the poster boy for partying; I haven't been able to remember anything from 1981-1983 ;)

I believe most everyone at some point in their life confronts this; those that see the rational of uselessness in the endeavour move on; those that don't are usually found on a park bench :D

I wouldn't sweat it too much Hugga; you are aware of the possibility of the ramifications, and that's usually is a positive. :)

I gave up drinking long ago. Too many alcoholics in my family, and I like the booze way to much to control it. If I had one, I kept going until I was drunk or out of booze.
If there are alcoholics in the family, I'd avoid alcohol. If you get drunk everytime you drink, you already have a problem. I agree with Star that most of us go thru this, but I disagree about not worrying about it. You are already concerned with your behavior, and that implies irresponsible drinking, at least to me. :)

Typically a "hangover" is the body's lack of Vitamin B and water.

Normal beer, bought from the store, typically is filtered beer. Filtered beer, gets rid of yeast which both makes alcohol and vitamin B.

So, I find that drinking water and taking a Vitamin B supplement (both are well stocked at my house), kills any hangover. I haven't had one in 2 years. Though, now I don't drink and drive. I have everything I need at home. Darts, Pool, Home-brewed beer, and Internet porn.... :)

Good advice slider, and the reason why I don't touch the stuff. There is no history of alcoholics in my family, to my knowledge, but I didn't want to start a new trend either :) I like the stuff too much and find it hard to not go to the point of too much. The stuff hates me and makes me severely depressed within a couple of hours to a dangerous point. So much easier to just say no, and I'm a cheap night out with more fun ;)

I was doing a bit too much drinking for a few months...I started playing video games more so I didnt do it as much. My way out, keep myself entertained and having fun. I have two friend that have become alcoholics, gained much weight. Drink daily. They kind of set something off in my head to watch out for what I am doing.

That and my boss has the I.Q. of a 10 year old when it comes to anything besides making a sale and he drinks on a daily basis and is rather large from it. kind of convinced me not to drink beer, I stick to rum and only when a group of friends gets together every so often.
