C++ in the Windows world

Hey all. I'm pretty new to major geeks, and also fairly new to the world of programming as well. My language is C++...and I understand it well. Things get sticky for me when I attempt to delve into the world of C++ apps for windows...so many rules to let the Mother of all progs know what's going on!!! Does anyone know of any good sites that have good tutorials on such things, or (jackpot here)..is anyone else just starting to make larger programs that wouldn't mind comparing notes, or just sharing knowledge in general? Either way, thanks to whoever answers.
