    I have been trying to install a digital audio workstation on my computer.(MAGIX Music Maker MX)
    Suddenly, I have started to receive error messages about C++ Runtime Error. It states something about an "Abnormal Termination Request".
    I have never had this problem before.

    I am running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1
    2gb ram

    Any thoughts?

    Greetings, audioartist1...

    Did the digital audio workstation software install with no problems, and did it run correctly at all before you started receiving the C++ symptoms?

    Yes, I ran several versions until I found the one that suited me best. All worked fine until I removed all of them. Reinstalled the program that I wanted and began having problems

    So, it's possible that one of the uninstalls broke something...

    You might try reinstalling the C++ Runtime components - what version are you running?

    According to the control panel, these versions are installed:

    Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 ATL update kb973923 x86 9.0.30729.5570
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable KB2467174 - x86 9.0.30729.5570
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 9.0.30729.17
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 9.0.30729.4148
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 9.0.30729.6161
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable 10.0.30319

    Yikes - that looks like a lot of work...

    The only other suggestion that I've been able to find is to clean boot and try to find any problem service(s), but that also entails a lot of trial and error...

    You know, the more I think about this, the more likely a clean boot might point in the right direction - at the very least, it could cut the troubleshooting in half, point to a Windows or a non-Windows problem...

    A 'clean boot' is just a Windows startup with only Windows services - no 3rd-party stuff...the MS walkthrough is located here (ignore the 'wrong OS' warnings and the 'Fix-It' - the procedure applies to all Windows flavors, and we want to fix it ourselves)...

    Look it over, see if you're up to trying it...
