Hey all! Thanks for the help in advance.

    I had 2 pop-ups saying C; WINDOWS\Image.dll when I started up.

Someone told me to do this:

    1) start>run and type msconfig then hit enter. Go to the startup tab and uncheck image.dll then click ok and restart.

which i did and still get one more pop-up.

I also used HIJACK THIS and could not find the file in the log.......ARRRGGGGHH...I WANT TO GET RID OF THIS LAST ONE PLS!!!!

Help and i am not really computer literate so explain in laymens terms!

Thanks...and if anyone needs help getting out of a ticket.......I'll help if this works!

    Welcome

When you have one problem there can be others lurking around.
We ask that you please try to work through the following TUTORIAL first.
This site has alot of good tools for cleaning up your computer. It's very important that the first thing you do is the following:

First, please follow ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal.
If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

NOTE: In order to resolve the issues you are having it is very important that you at least try to perform all the steps as outlined. If you have any difficulty please post back letting us know what steps you have completed, what you found while doing the scans if anything and details about any problems you have encountered in completing the steps. The more details you can provide the better.

Try this... you may find it's all you need. If not post your results and I am sure someone wll help you. Everyone is quite busy, as you can see by the number of posts, so hang in there. Good Luck!! :)

After doing ALL of the above if you still have a problem:

Make sure you have HijackThis 1.99 and follow the guidelines on where to install it and how to post a log as an attachment. This is all covered in the sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a HijackThis log as an attachment to your message (Do not post the log inline). All running programs should be closed, INCLUDING YOUR WEB BROWSER, e-mail. Close before running Hijack This!

To repeat: Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder for example C:\Program Files\HJT

Hijack this is NOT the first step to try you need to follow the advice given by TheOldThug to read and follow the tutorial on spyware removal etc..

Also please keep your posts in one spot so that you can receive the best help possible and everyone knows what is being suggested to fix the problem as I noticed that you have asked for help in the software forum for this same problem. Help Me If You Can!
Good Luck and welcome to MG

You should complete the READ ME FIRST as alread specified, but look for the following item (or similar) in your HJT log:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Image] rundll32 C:\WINDOWS\image.dll,Install

This is a piece of malware and you need to have HJT fix this line. You should not use msconfig to try to resolve this problem. That is the wrong approach. Go back to msconfig and select Normal Startup (make sure that you no longer have the image.dll item unchecked).

Then complete the steps TheOldThug gave you in the READ ME and then post your HJT log if necessary when finished with those steps.
