Wow, three pages of unread threads since our cable internet became random a week ago due to a storm. Copious amounts of rain here in Cranbrook where I live, but twenty inches of snow in the Elk Valley area where I work. At work the computer systems are still down and half the phone service is still out. So many broken trees because they hadn't lost their leaves yet and couldn't handle the weight of the snow. A minor inconvenience compared to Katrina in the South. We attended an outdoor wedding in Slocan during the storm. Over there it just rained very hard but did not "dampen" anyone's spirits. The bride, our niece, is a very happy-go-lucky person. She was smiling all day. One picture I've posted here explains why the rest of us kept smiling. The other pic is the summit of the mountain pass we have to travel to get there. Elevation is about 5600 feet.
