call of duty multiplayer gun problems

ok guys i have a problem with my gun in codmp. lately like the last couple of months teh gun takes 2x long to kill ppl no matter where i hit them. also it seems to hit them less or not at all and this is really making me angry. any suggestions for a way to fix this?

 

How's your connection? Poor performing net connection will give you the illusion of hits when in actuality you probably are missing or being killed before you kill them.

 

my connection is great, i have cable and usually have a ping below 100 so i doubt its my connection; also i dont have the illusion of hitting, bcuz i know i hit them, been playin this game for at least a year

 

Could be a number of factors, including packet loss, poor rate transnfer, server is sluggish, servers too far away, your provider uses too many nods to arrive to the server etc..

btw with a cable connection you should be getting 12-30ping

 

well i dont know most of what u jsut said lol, but i know for sure the server isnt too far away bcuz i am in a clan and we have a server runnin on a guy's computer within a few states of me. when i download files of the internet they are always between 100 kb/s and 160 kb/s if that tells u anything. its not the server that is sluggish bcuz everyone else has around 100 or lower on the pings.
i also know its not my comptuer and video lag cuz i have decent gaming computer

 

If your on cable and downloading only at 100k~ then your on a super saturated cable line; which basically means you cable company is craming the most amount of people it can on a fiber optic network that just cant give any more. Like i said, 100 ping isnt "good" ping especially for broadband (for the exception of ADSL). What are your system specs?

3 Ghz Pent. 3 with hyper threading
160 GB hard drive (have 47 free)
512 MB ram
Radeon 9200 128 AGP 8x graphics card
also my system is clean of all spy ware ad ware viruses and trojan bcuz i wuz here recently and had another person help me clean it up

weak video card, might cause the troubles.

 

i dont think its the video card bcuz i run games like far cry and doom 3 on medium grpahics settings without any lag or problems both sp and mp

Lets see COD is a game you can Mod so are you using any Special mods for your weapons. I'm a MOH modder so i'm not sure what they name the files in COD but there should be a file that tells the bullets to be a certain accuracy and do a certain amount of damage, you might try finding that. But I can Tell you you'll get a whole lot more help if you find COD modding site with a forum then here.
