Calling all prayers/mojo

Just got a call from my family to wish me happy bday. My dad is being admitted to the hospital. 103.5 fever, massive neck pain and serious double vision. I guess they have ruled out menegitis but have no idea what is causing the neck pain and double vision so they are keeping him overnight. I am on standby to fly to Riverside if necessary. Please say a prayer for him.

I'm sorry Randy...I got the call about my mothers stroke just before going to bed for the night on my birthday. Almost makes you feel guilty for having enjoyed your day huh?


Thoughts and prayers being sent your way. Hope the Drs find out what is wrong quickly and that your dad is back up to par soon. Hang in there!

Thanks everyone. To tell you the truth the day sucked. 4hr drive from monterey, picking up doors at lowe's, bad phone call, couldn't sleep, etc.

Today I am moving into high gear to get some stuff done, maybe by saturday evening I can actually sit down and enjoy a few cold ones.

No word on my dad today. I'll post if they actually find something.

Well, they still don't know whats wrong. They are doing a lumbar puncture and some other punture soon and going after infectious diseases this round of tests. Double vision is getting worse, fever still comes and goes. Funny this is, he chills and trembles while the fever is building, then once the fever peaks he's normal. Not the other way around, its backwards.

I don't get it. Hopefully I'll know more sometime tonight.

 

Waiting is always tough. I hope you get some real news soon.

Thanks everyone. They are finally doing the Lumbar Puncture tonight. They have no idea whats going on. Just have to wait it out.

Viral Menengitis and severe artery blockage to the vertebrae in his neck. Surgery in about a week. I may not be around for quite sometime. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers they have meant more than you know.

 

Really sorry to hear your Father is so unwell Randy. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time.

 

Here's praying for a speedy and full recovery for your father, Randy.

Don't forget to get some rest in for and your wife. It's hard, I know, but hang in there, man.

My grandpa is battling stomach ailments and all the doctors say is it is an infection, but they can't find the source. At least in yours, they know what's wrong, and hopefully can get him healthy again.

Taking it day by day for now. A lot going on here. I think someone is trying to test my character and see how much it can handle lol. So far so good, but I'm reaching the breaking point.

 

Hang in there Randy...you are being a wonderful friend and an exemplary figure to the children of your friend. *hugs*

 

When I was a kid, I was complaining about something that I had to do or that had happened, and my Dad said with a slight grin on his face, "Hey, it builds character." I said "I'm sick of building character!" I think sometimes I'd be happier having less character, know what I mean?
"One day at a time" is the only way to go. Tomorrow has enough trouble of it's own, you can only take care of today, so it won't help to worry about tomorrow.
Hang in there, keep us posted, you'll be in my prayers. Seems there's lots of folks that need our prayers right now, don't it?
