   I'm thinking of getting a free camcorder through a work reward program,,i'd really like to use it to takes pictures and put them on my computer,can all camcorders do this? its a coby snapp and has 3mp still images,does this mean it can take pictures like a camera?

   Yes if the specs say that it can do still pictures then yes its similar to a normal digital camera.
   
   Yes majority of digital video recorders do have the option of still image taking BUT you'd have to read the spec list or manual as some may not, its rare these days but bound to be a few that dont, especially down the lower end of the price ranges.
