Camcorder to Computer

Alright well wondering if i can transfer video from this old camcorder i got its a Sharp VLAH50U Hi8 Viewcam Camcorder , the only wires you can plug into it is the DC in (to charge) and something that says Audio/Video which i believe is to connect to a television (lost the wires). So is there anything that will go into the audio/video to the computer?

The audio/video inputs on the camcorder can be used to connect to either a graphics cards which has Video-in capabilities or preferably a pci TV capture card for example Leadtek TV2000 (for video and audio).

I am not sure but I guess that there is probably a usb version of the TV capture card.

In all cases your will need software to capture the footage in real time and there are several progs that you can use. I have a rather old version of Ulead Video Studio 6.

The only connector you will need is an rca audio / video cable. This cable has 2 stereo channels (red and black) and a video (yellow). As your camcorder is mono just connect one of the audio channels.
