i would like to expand the wireless signal in my house since its too weak to gain acceptable bandwith from the other side of the house (big house too) so isthis statement true or should i just buy something that is titled wirless repeater

i want to have it capture the exsisting wirless signal being transmitted from the router then transmit the same signal but stronger is this possible

A wireless access point can be used, if the firmware allows it, as a wireless repeater. A wireless repeater product would also work, but it could not be used as an access point if necessary.
