Could be corruption in your temp folders, if you have CCleaner installed run its cleaner (do make sure your browser is closed), then reboot and try another file, as I just tried a Zip file and an .exe and both are fine for me.

So try this download this Zip file HERE and this .exe HERE choose the first @majorgeeks.com links at both of those and are they both still PDFs? (dont worry about the files they are for testing and just the first ones I came across just now)

What Browser and Windows version are you using?


Outside chance is malware so do a few scans with the security applications you have installed already.
