Can DVD Print Workshop contents be burned to CD?

I'm hitting my head into a larger block because I bought some great photo editing software (Print Workshop 2005) only to find after I got it home that it's a DVD and I don't have a DVD drive on my computer. My system has a CD/RW and CD. My friend said he might be able to burn the DVD contents onto a CD (probably will need more than one), but we aren't sure.

    Is that possible?

Part Deux: If it's not possible, it may be time to add a DVD drive to my system. Any suggestions on that? Should I scrap my existing CD/RW and buy an all-in-one type that does both CD and DVD, or should I add the DVD separately?

Side note: (Can't return the DVD. Ripped it open and marked up the direction sheet before I knew it wouldn't work :( !)

    Many thanks.
