Can I Delete "Network" icon?

i know there are no stupid questions, just stupid people... but what would happen if i deleted the "Network" icon on my desktop... the only time i access it is when i have to change my IP for a new ISP configuration.... i know it's not a shortcut icon but i don't like icons on my desktop that i don't use...

so can i delete this bad boy or what?

Yes, I used Registry Robot.......be well.......

Right Click on desktop > Properties > Desktop > Customise Desktop and untick My Network Places.

Agree with all these posts. I haven't seen any traces of that icon since this installation's day One.
