Can I get Some Quick Advice?

    from what i can gather from common knowledge and intel's website, there's no incompatibility between the celeron and the motherboard, although it's NOT listed as a compatible motherboard on intel's site. It should work, but it may need a bios update first.

    Thats the problem with Gateway. They don't tell you what the BIOS flashes do,a nd the last one was from 2002.

    Now, Im guessing it just needs to support the multiplier, but I cannot find out.

    I would say that the multiplier is not the problem, but the core will be. If you do try this then make sure you don't get a newer d core celeron, as I would bet it wouldn't work. Also, the older boards have an issue with the power requirements of the newer celerons, some of them may not have the proper voltage range to run one. The 845 chipset is capable of that processor, but who knows if gateway engineered it to be. On the plus side I can tell you that most gatewaymainboards are designed and manufactured by MSI, and they tend to be decent boards. You may be able to cross reference that board and use an MSI bios with it, but I'd do this at your own risk.
