can i help?

Hello there!
I am very interested in this folding thing, I know nothing about it. I'll tell you guys/girls what I've got & you tell me if I can help.
I have a DELL XPS 1000 / win ME
PIII 1 Ghz w/256 ra
ATT dialup 56k
Does my PC need to be on all the time? I dont suffer from crashes but if one happens will it hurt the project? Any help would be appreciated as would answers to any stupid questions I dont know to ask!

 

Welcome, scorcer! Every little bit helps. Your computer does not need to be on all the time; if you have a crash, you'll only lose the "WU" (work unit) you're currently working on; there's a good thread here that describes the operation ( http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=38418 written by Goldfish, a real guru- go to the beginning of thread); and the folks here will help you with anything else.
