I have a Gateway 46" plasma screen on my computer as a second monitor. I use my computer as a DVD player and to record TV. Plasma screen TVs are especially sensitive to screen burn-in. I would like to have a screensaver on the plasma screen, but I don't know how or even if it is possible. If anyone can can help me or let me know either way, I'd appreciate it greatly.
    My system info follows:

Here's one way to access the second monitor that is available as an option in Windows 2000 Advanced Server, but you report you are running WinXP Home. Don't know of any way to do this other than in Win2K. Here's how you would do it in Win2K (However, if you have 2 video cards installed, the advanced tab might show the fact that you have two cards and you may be able to follow the steps below on XP home, but somehow I doubt it):

    • I assume you have two video adapters. Plug your second monitor into the second card.
    • Control Panel > Display
    • Settings > click the monitor icon you want to use in addition to your primary monitor
    • Select Extend My Windows desktop onto this monitor check box, and then click Apply
    • Select the color depth and resolution for the secondary display
    • Repeat the steps for each additional display.
    To change the primary monitor.

    • Double click Display in Control Panel
    • Settings Tab > click the monitor icon that represents the monitor you want to designate as primary.
    • Select Use this device as the primary monitor check box and click OK
I would assume you could asign a different screen saver to the primary monitor.

    Hope that helps.

I was hoping to avoid doing that, but apparently there is no alternative. I thank you for your time and assistance in this matter.
