Hey everyone, I'm thinking about upgrading my desktop motherboard. The cpu is a HP A6700y, and I want to have a new intel motherboard installed. I know the quad core processors are AMD's, but can I have an Intel motherboard installed? What are some of the things I should know? Does anyone have any helpful advice in this venture? I only need more processor speed, as I'm only running 1.8 ghz, and I want more speed for games. I already upgraded my vid card from a nvidia 6150 to an nvidia 9200..Please help! Thanks to all who contribute.

    hello and welcome aboard!

First of all you should change the "cpu is a hp a6700y" to computer is bla bla as cpu means the processor..

Anyway looking at your current computer you could easily upgrade to a higher spec amd x4 processor that will run on that mobo. No need to get another mobo. Oh and what games are you looking to play? geforce 9200 is a product you would only buy if your going to be watching vids ect, games require something along the lines of geforce 9500gt or radeon 4550.
