    Hi

I would run the upgrade advisor http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_7_Upgrade_Advisor_d6076.html and see if it highlights any issues but likely you will not as you are running 32bit win7 already but do check on 64bit drivers for your motherboard and other hw. also check for 64bit version compatability with your favorite apps.

Your hardware looks ok but would like to know what model Pentium D it is but all iirc are x64 compatible.
What do you use your PC for reason for asking is that unless you have 4GB+ of ram and use fully 64bit applications like Office 2010 x64 or Photoshop etc the mist other apps are hybrid 32/64 and wont give you much of a performance hit, so if you use your PC for basic tasks, stick with 32bit

    Hi Mike

Cheers, but what do you use your PC for as that may help the suggestion to migrate to x64 and do you have space for maybe an extra 2GB ram stick in your PC?

64bit is the way forward, and I run every PC I have on x64 (aprt from a netbook as it no like x64 Win7) as I have Office 2010 64bit and Photoshop/Lightroom 64bit but those are in reality the only 64bit dedicated apps, the rest are hybrid 32/64bit, so until more application developers move to dedicated x64 then x86 is fine for most users, unless you have over 4GB ram, then x64 comes into its own.

However if the 32bit version of Windows 7 is doing all the tasks you need it too then stick with that for now, until your next PC upgrade/purchase.
