I have 2 computers that are having this issue. I have installed and ran the programs in Malware instructions and still have this issue. Using Iexplore I can surf to most sites, except for windows update. When I go to tools windows update it says page can not be found. I can ping it. When I use the IP instead of the update.microsoft.com at the top of the tab I see Microsoft Windows update for a second then url uses the name and the page can not be found. I have checked the hosts file, dns setting, no proxy by way of proxycfg -d and I tracert the url and it worked correctly. I tried netstat -a but it does not display anything. I have also tried inplace reinstall of XP Home. As well as reinstall IE 7.0. If there is any logs you want please let me know and I will post them. Also Automatic Updates seem to be working. I get notified on my tool bar and I open it and use custom and can install them. Sorry for the log post, but I wanted to get as much info here as I could.

New info. I finally was able to run netstat and got the following entry. static.reverse.ltdomains is this something that should be there?

After searching the net I finally found what seems to be a fix. SDFix seems to have fixed the issue. If you want more info on it please let me know. Thanks for your help.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

In your first message you state that you ran our cleaning procedures. It would be useful to us if you attached the 4 logs requested in the procedue. The logs are from:
    • SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Malwarebytes
    • ComboFix
    • MGtools
Also it would be interesting to see the log from SDfix which should be named Report.txt. and should be in the SDfix folder.

SDfix removed a bunch of files that the READ & RUN ME would also have removed however it may not have removed the registry keys due to the infection. You really should attach the 4 logs from the READ & RUN ME so we can be sure.
