Can not get wireless router to work

    I just bought a belkin wireless g plus router to set up a wireless network through a dsl connection. Hooked it up to a motorla modem and installed software, now it will not connect to the internet when i open browser. all lights are active and still nothing. please help.

    There are several reasons why you are not connecting.
    To track down the reason you should start by seeing if the computer is finding your LAN card.
    Perhaps the quickest way to do this is the run pathping.
    Start>Run>pathping 127.0.0.1
    You should see a DOS window appear saying:
    http://ioniafirst.com/localhost.jpg
    Let us know if it shows and we'll proceed to the next step.

    If it doesn't show a completed transfer (times out), temporarily disable your firewall and try again.

    Completed the steps you told me to. The DOS window showed up then closed after 10 or so seconds....so what now?

    Next you need to check and see if your wireless router is showing up in your Network Connetions
    Start>Control Panel>Network Connections>Right click on "Wireless Network Connection" and choose "View Available Wireless Networks".
