    Hello Majorgeeks,

i cannot open kasperky (I have uninstalled it now)
i cannot view my firewall settings (due to unknown problem)
i cannot open regedit (disabled by administrator)
i cannot open task manager (disabled by administrator)
i cannot surf the web, except maybe the first page or sometimes a few more, but then it gives an error in which it states that there could be no connection made.

i did not use recovery console during combofix, because my internet connection didnt work.

Thanks in advance for being so kind to help.

I still have a virus on my computer.
The thread whre I got help can be found at http://thespykiller.co.uk/index.php/topic,8012.0.html.

The conclusion was that my computer is infected with sality. I want to remove this virus, because I have a 2nd computer with exactly the same virus. On that computer I have a lot of files (mainly mp3's) I don't want to lose.

The 2nd reason I dont want to format is because I dont have a windows XP cd.

I'm planning on using a kaspersky rescue disk tomorrow. Is that a good idea? I'm also going to make a cd with programs I need, like office and a internet browser.

    Good morning.

From what I can see you haven't wrapped the thread up yet, your helper had asked you to download OTScanIt2.exe two days ago on March 14th and you haven't yet responded to that. All I want to make sure of is that resources aren't being wasted. I would rather not start helping you with the computer that is being worked on now at the other forum, but I am willing to help you fix the second machine. However in order to do that I will require the 4 requested logs. Those being:

    • SUPERantispyware
    • MalwareBytes-Anti-Malware
    • Combofix
    • MGlogs.zip

    Thanks
    Kestrel13!

Derek, the guy who tried to help me, said:

I wouldn't bother to run OTscanit

every .exe file will be infected & the only cure will be a format & install from scratch

& get antivirus protection & a firewall from the start .

    I do want your help.

I am very busy at the moment. I'll scan the computer next weekend and provide you with the logs.

PS: thank you for willingness to help me
