Can not play WAV files

    I have an ASUS notebook running XP. It has a MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-850S.
    It will play DVDs and MP3 audio files but will not play prerecorded WAV audio discs. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver but the problem still exists. The iTune and Windows Media Player do not see the discs. I know it is not a hardware problem as DVDs and MP3s play.
